'Wife Swap' ratings on the rise

Channel 4's controversial Wife Swap series is on the rise in the ratings, according to the latest figures.

The reality show, which sees women swap their husbands and families, debuted a fortnight ago with a respectable 3.7 million audience. Last week it rose to an impressive 5.1 million, and yet further still last night to 5.7 million, a 23% share.

It fared better than BBC One's Red Cap, which had 5.5m, and BBC Two's documentary Collision Course with 1.4m. It was beaten only by ITV, which averaged 7.6m and a 30% share for Bond movie The World Is Not Enough.

Unsurprisingly, Channel 4 has already commissioned a second series from the programme's producer, RDF Media, who have also made a pilot of the show for US network ABC.
