Sky One audience tops 2m on Monday

Monday's broadcast of The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant To See saw Sky One achieve its biggest audience for three years after attracting more two million viewers.

The average audience of 2.04 million (source: BARB overnight data) is Sky One's third biggest audience ever and represents a 16.4% audience share in multi-channel homes.

92% of respondents to Sky One's interactive vote answered 'yes' to the question, "do you believe Michael Jackson had been treated unfairly by Martin Bashir's ITV1 documentary Living With Michael Jackson."

Sky One's The Michael Jackson Interview attracted a bigger audience than Channel 4 between 9.00pm and 10.45pm. For the whole day, Sky One achieved a 6.0% audience share in multichannel homes, beating both Channel 4 (5.1%) and Five (5.0%).

Dawn Airey, Managing Director of Sky Networks, said: "We are delighted to have brought such an eagerly-anticipated show to more than two million Sky One viewers. Timely and opportunistic commissions and acquisitions will increasingly be a hallmark of the Sky One service."
