Derry RSL advertised

The Independent Television Commission today advertised the local Restricted Service Licence to operate a TV service for Derry.
The current licence, held by North West Television Service Ltd, expires on October 17, 2003. The actual permission to run RSL TV service on this frequency - UHF Channel 21 transmitting from either Minkley Hill or Sheriff's Mountain - expires at the end of October 2005, cutting short the usual four-year term of the new licence. However, the ITC does say: "if the radio spectrum administrations of the UK and the Republic of Ireland were to reach agreement in time," the licence would be able to run for its full term.
Applications are due by noon on May 28, 2003, with the winner being announced during August 2003.
