The BBC is to air its own version of a US reality series where 25 women vie for the affections of one man.
A UK version of ABC's The Bachelor will begin broadcast on the BBC next month, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The programme follows one man as he tries to find true love amongst a group of single women. In each episode he goes on dates with the women then eliminates the ones he connects least with, eventually finding his one soulmate.
The Bachelor has been a ratings success across the pond, and has already run for three series, including one where the roles were reversed, The Bachelorette. A fourth is due to begin on ABC later this month.
"Now that it has sustained three series, it is being perceived as a very attractive format," said Jeffrey Schlesinger, president of Warner Bro. International TV, which owns the programme format. "This show definitely has ignited interest in most of the major territories in Europe."
