BBC One will hand over seven hours of its schedule tonight to the biannual telethon in aid of Comic Relief.

A host of stars from the worlds of music, television, sport and film are participating in the event, which is being promoted across all of the BBC's services.

Celebrity versions of Fame Academy, Streetmate and Driving School will conclude live in the studio, whilst Gareth Gates, Coldplay, S Club and Westlife will all be performing live.

Among the spoof sketches are a new Harry Potter adventure with Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, the EastEnders cast singing in the rain and Rowan 'Bashir' Atkinson in the documentary Lying To Michael Jackson.

Also on the show, Ricky Gervais will reveal his private Comic Relief video diary, Jack Dee will be up a pole and the Auf Wiedersehen Pet gang will be back for another special.

Presenters of the telethon include Ant and Dec, Graham Norton, Vic and Bob, Jonathan Ross and Lenny Henry.

Donations to the appeal can be made by calling 08457 910 910.
