New Blur video features anti-war message
Published Monday, Mar 17 2003, 00:20 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
Blur's latest music video will highlight "the human cost of war" by featuring images shot on a US Navy ship in the Gulf.
Footage in 'Out of Time' was filmed last year in a fly-on-the-wall style and tells the story of a young woman separated from her partner, serving on another ship, and her son back home.
"The video offers an alternative perspective on the individuals who exist at the sharp end of government policy by portraying the armed forces as being staffed by people who have the same needs as all others," said video director John Hardwick.
"Like the song, the video is a tender piece of work about distance and loss."
'Out of Time' is due for an April 14 release.
