BBC One has confirmed it is making a ten-part series based on the Japanese gameshow dubbed "human Tetris".

The format - originally created as part of Fuji TV's Tunnels no minnasan no okage deshita - became an international hit on the internet and has been replicated on TV in several countries worldwide.

Now named Hole In The Wall, the series will see Strictly Come Dancing stars Darren Gough and Anton Du Beke lead competing spandex-clad teams. They will be challenged to fit themselves through differently-shaped slots in a moving wall, otherwise falling into a swimming pool.

"This format is enjoyed by viewers all over Europe and we believe will be a great addition to the wide range of entertainment programmes already on BBC One," said commissioning executive Mark Linsey.
