Comedian Alan Carr has reportedly been offered a £2 million contract with ITV.

The stand-up, who hosts shows including The Sunday Night Project and Celebrity Ding Dong, is tempted by a two-year deal with the channel, according to The Sun.

"Alan is perfect for ITV and our viewers will love him," said an insider. "He is the natural successor to Paul O’Grady and Michael Barrymore."

A source added: "Alan is keen to become a major light entertainment star in the mould of Larry Grayson."
