The BBC's new 'whodunnit?' reality series got off to a slow start on Saturday with 4 million viewers, according to early ratings figures.
The Murder Game only managed to tempt under half of the huge 8.8 million audience for Casualty which preceded it at 20.25.
The programme still won its slot however, with the audience for ITV's Reborn in the USA dropping further still to 3.2 million and a 19% share.
Elsewhere, the BBC's coverage of England's disappointing Euro 2004 qualifier against Liechtenstein drew a healthy 7.7 million audience, equating to a 41.1% share.
