Former Have I Got News For You presenter Angus Deayton is trying to revive his career on ITV, according to The Mirror today.
Deayton, 45, was sacked as host of the long-running BBC quiz show following a series of revelations about his private life in the media.
He has been in talks with ITV about fronting a rival news quiz but no deal has yet been reached.
"Angus has had lunch with our controller of entertainment," a spokeswoman told the newspaper. "We talk to talent and producers all the time, so that's not unusual."
