FOX is set to kick-start the May rating sweeps season [DS: Sweeps Spy Guide] with yet another Michael Jackson special.
The network has scheduled Michael Jackson's Private Home Movies for the opening night of the sweeps period, April 24. The show has an executive producer in common with an earlier FOX special, Michael Jackson Take 2: The Interview They Wouldn't Show You, a documentary presented by Maury Povich on the network in the aftermath of a controversial interview granted to British journalist Martin Bashir for ITV - which also aired on American network ABC as a 20/20 special.
In a statement, FOX said: "Leaving behind the glitz and glamour of film, music videos and television, Michael Jackson opens up his private home movie collection, giving unprecedented access to thousands of hours of never-before-seen footage revealing his real life, family and friends."
