I Sleep With Strangers will look at the "growing phenomenon" of "people - particularly women - who seek out strangers just for sex". The hour-long programme will use case studies to "examine the motivations and psychology behind what makes these people crave these 'strange' experiences".
In addition, comedienne Olivia Lee will present The British Suck In Bed, another hour-long documentary, on the "notion that our nation is a sexually repressed one". A survey will look at how UK sexual attitudes and habits differ from those in continental Europe.
Both will air in August along with My Free Boobs, Happy Birthday Viagra and The Sex Lives Of Twins.
"Our Rude Season is made up of fun, cheeky intelligent sex programmes that tell you something about sex and society today in this country," said Daniela Neumann, Virgin1's acting director of programmes.
"These are insightful shows that while being entertaining and eye-opening, are also a statement on how our attitude to sex has evolved enormously."
