Sky One is hoping for big audiences this evening when it broadcasts the UK premiere of the "historic" 300th Simpsons episode.
The episode, titled 'Barting Over', rounds off a weekend of Simpsons episodes on the channel to mark the event. Preceding it at 9pm will be a rebroadcast of the first ever episode shown on Sky One, 'Call Of The Simpsons' from 1990.
"I didn’t expect to be on the air this long," said Simpsons creator Matt Groening recently. "One of the great things about doing an animated show is your characters don’t age. So your show stays fresh, and you keep the audience fresh."
In the 300th episode, Bart decides to move out and into his own apartment after discovering Homer spent money he earnt as a baby. The show includes guest appearances from skateboarder Tony Hawk, rock band Blink 182 and Malcolm in the Middle's Jane Kaczmarek.
The Simpsons: Barting Over airs tonight at 9.30pm on Sky One.
