ITV1 plans 'hard-hitting' CO19 docs
ITV1 is to air a two-part documentary featuring rare access to the Metropolitan police's firearms division later this year.

In The Line Of Fire, to air this autumn, will utilise access to CO19 officers to explore London's gun problem and weapons hotspots.

The channel has also announced a four-part show, Billy Connolly: Ocean To Ocean, which will follow the comedian as he navigates the Arctic Ocean's notorious North West Passage.

Alison Sharman, ITV director of factual and daytime, said she wanted to get more exciting documentaries into 8pm and 9pm slots.

"We are looking for the faces, the big access pieces, the authored journeys," she told Broadcast.
