David Brent will be back this Christmas, but only to say goodbye, according to today's Sun.
Creators Ricky Gervais (Brent) and Stephen Merchant are writing two final, 40-minute episodes which will go out on BBC Two over the festive period.
"This is the end of the story," he confirmed yesterday, refusing to give away any plot details. "I can't tell you the plot because that would spoil it. But you'll see all the old favourites and a couple more."
Merchant added: "It'll be the same jokes but with tinsel."
The pair, who also present a weekend radio show on Xfm, will continue working together on new projects after The Office ends.
