The BBC will take Feist and Brian Eno to the Arctic this summer for a programme about climate change.

Feist told the San Francisco Chronicle that she had agreed to join a "summer camp in the Arctic" on a former Soviet tanker, along with scientists and other artists including the top producer.

"I was just invited with this science team that goes every year with the BBC," said the singer.

"They have this theory that if you respond in some way that once you get home it will draw attention to what's going on up there. So I said I'll go because it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance."
