Fern Britton misses out on big pay rise

Britton was accused of deception last month after the secret behind her dramatic weight loss was exposed in a Sunday newspaper. She had previously credited exercise and a sensible diet for her new slim figure.
The Daily Star claims that Fern had been hoping for a 10% pay rise before the row kicked off. However, her This Morning salary will now remain at £700,000 per year for the next two years. The deal will be finalised over the next few days.
Show bosses reportedly made the decision because they feel Fern's behaviour damaged the programme's reputation.
A report last month claimed that Britton feared she could lose her job following a backlash from viewers.
