Don Estelle dies at 70

Actor and singer Don Estelle has died at the age of 70. He had been ill for some time.
4ft 9in Estelle shot to fame playing the role of 'Lofty' in the BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum in the 1970s. A duet with fellow Mum actor Windsor Davies entitled Whispering Grass went on to become a number one hit. His widow Elizabeth explained how he enjoyed singing:
"He had a lovely singing voice, He regretted it was not more well known. He loved singing more than anything but he loved comedy as well,
"He lived absolutely for his showbiz career. He loved his music more than anything."
Estelle died in Rochdale Infirmary, it was reported on Saturday evening.
