Sky News has revealed three new appointments to its newsgathering team.
Kirsty Thomson, a senior producer at the ITV News Channel, will move to Sky News to join the forward planning desk. Clive Kerfoot, who is currently freelancing at Sky having previously been Tyne Tees TV's news editor, will take up his new position - also at the forward planning desk - next month.
The channel's Deputy News Editor, Mark Evans, has been promoted to Home News Editor. Both he and the other three Home News Editors report to Phil Wardman, Head of Home News. Prior to joining Sky eighteen months ago, Evans worked on the Daily Star's newsdesk.
Simon Cole, Deputy Head of News at Sky News, said:
"Ideas and tough decision-making are at the heart of newsgathering and these appointees have those qualities in spades. They will help maintain our lead over the rolling news competition."
