BBC denies Barrymore appearance

The BBC has denied reports that troubled TV presenter Michael Barrymore will be appearing on Room 101.
Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Sunday, Barrymore claimed that he had been approached by producers of the show to see if he could appear as a guest.
The BBC said today that Barrymore had been asked but was never "seriously considered" for the show or any of the corporation's programmes.
"He was never seriously considered as a guest on Room 101," said a spokeswoman. "His availability was checked, but they do that for just about everyone. He's even less likely to appear on Children in Need or Jonathan Ross. We have absolutely no plans to work with Michael Barrymore on any of our shows."
