Big Brother host Davina McCall is to take on the likes of Michael Barrymore for 'Best Presenter' in this year's National TV Awards.
The sixth annual event will take place on October 10th at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Davina also faces competition from Jim Davidson, Dale Winton and Chris Tarrant.
In the 'Best Actor' category, legend David Jason goes up again Martin Kemp (EastEnders), John Thaw, Robson Green and Martin Shaw. Up for the 'Best Actress' award is EastEnders' Tamzin Outhwaite, Samantha Giles (Emmerdale), Pam Ferris (Where The Heart Is), Sarah Lancashire (Seeing Red) and Debra Stephenson (Bad Girls).
Host Trevor McDonald said, "I am delighted to be hosting the awards because they have become the accepted benchmark for excellence and achievement on British television today. They are the only awards whose winners are democratically chosen by the most discerning of all judges - the viewers."
Producer Kim Turberville said, "In many categories newcomers are challenging the more established personalities so a few surprises seem likely this year. All the winners are chosen by viewers. More than 500,000 of them voted this year and with such a huge public endorsement it's an award that really means something to the winners."
