Saturday Kitchen host James Martin's delicatessen has been ranked "unsatisfactory" by food inspectors.

Martin's Cadogan and James shop was given the lowest possible rating by Winchester Council, reports The Sun.

Inspectors commented on "ineffective" cleaning, a mouldy chiller cabinet and dirty work surfaces. He was also criticised for failing to rotate the stock of cooked meats.

Commenting on the report, Martin said: "Certain staff members have received disciplinary action.

"The shop's very important to me. This is not a fly-by-night thing. There was a lapse. I apologise."
