Michelle Heaton is being lined up as ITV's new face of Saturday morning, according to The Sun today.
If a deal is signed, the Liberty X singer will co-host a new untitled show with Robbie Williams' flatmate, Jonathan Wilkes, in the slot currently occupied by SM:tv Live.
ITV decided to axe SM:tv in August amid continued falling ratings and the relative success of BBC One's rival Saturday Show.
The replacement programme - due to begin in January - will target 4-12 year olds and feature "increased interactive elements," as well as sketches, games and music.
“Producers were impressed with Michelle when she appeared on SM:tv in the past because she is so confident in front of the camera," a source told the newspaper. “Liberty X are not splitting up but Michelle is keen to do the show. It should only be a matter of time before she signs a contract.???
