Ant and Dec to film pilot for US 'Takeaway'

Around 200 Americans are being sought to sit in the audience for a US pilot of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.
The Geordie duo are preparing to film a test episode of the show for US network FOX which, if successful, could lead to a full series being commissioned. In order to get an idea of how the show would go down with Americans, the studio audience will be exclusively comprised of US residents and tourists.
A Granada spokeswoman told The Independent: "We are going to get London-based Americans. We will advertise in Time Out [the London listings magazine] and places like that. Fox would want a sample of how it goes down with Americans. The best way to do that is to use, as far as possible, an American audience."
The US version of the show will retain the comedy sketches and gameshow elements such as Win The Break, but some features, like Little Ant and Dec, will be dropped.
"We have been asked by The Fox Network to do a pilot of Saturday Night Takeaway and we'll be filming that before Christmas," said Dec. "I think the plan is to get an American audience in for the show, but we are filming it in the UK. Then we are going to see how it goes - whether Fox like it and whether we like it."
