Corden and co-creator Ruth Jones have been focusing on the forthcoming Christmas special in recent months, but a decision on whether to go ahead with a third series has yet to be made.
"We won't rule it out but we are working on a Christmas special now," Corden told Take 5 magazine. "There has to be a story to tell. I think there is another life to the show but Ruth Jones and I don't know what is after the special."
Meanwhile, a US version of the BBC sitcom is currently being planned by the NBC network, and Corden is keen to find out who will play his character Smithy.
He revealed: "People from Sex and the City are working on the script and we can't be too precious, but Philip Seymour Hoffman would be great."
Corden and his co-star Mathew Horne have also been making plans for a new BBC Three sketch series.
"We offered Kathy Burke our bodies if she would agree to direct it!" he said. "We went to her house for tea and did some sketches and she said yes. Essentially we begged her. It was very much a threesome."
