National Geographic appoints new promo chief

The National Geographic Channel has appointed a new head of on-air promotions and presentation.
Melissa Hawker is moving from CNBC Europe to take up the post. Her previous experience also includes work at Bloomberg TV, the BBC, and Meridian Broadcasting. She will be responsible for all on-air promotions and presentation on the UK and European feeds of the channel.
Jane Larner, General Manager UK at National Geographic Channel, said:
"The strength and scope of Melissa’s experience makes her a very welcome addition to an already strong team. I’m delighted to have her on board."
