Monarch of the Glen will return for a sixth series, the BBC has announced.
BBC Scotland's head of drama, Barbara McKissack, said:
"We're very happy to be returning to Glenbogle again next year.
"Monarch of the Glen is a very special show for us and we're thrilled that its fans continue to enjoy the antics of the extended MacDonald clan."
The current series ends on November 30th. The new ten-part series will premiere next year, with current cast members Susan Hampshire, Dawn Steele, Lloyd Owen, Hamish Clark, Alexander Morton, Martin Compston and Rae Hendrie all returning.
Douglas Rae, executive producer for Ecosse Films, said:
"It's so rewarding to know that Monarch of the Glen has entered the affections of the nation – a show that all the family can sit down and enjoy together.
"We'll be introducing some great new characters at Glenbogle next year."
In addition to airing on BBC One in the UK, the series is popular internationally. It airs on BBC America, Australia's ABC, around Europe on BBC Prime, and other TV stations around the world.
