'World Idol' takes ITV1 primetime on Xmas Day
Published Thursday, Nov 27 2003, 11:03 GMT | By Neil Wilkes

The special show - which will see eleven winners from the various Idol series around the world compete against each other - will air over 90 minutes from 8.30pm on the channel, immediately after a festive Coronation Street special.
The programme - similarly being screened in the same slot on networks around the world - will face tough competition from a hefty BBC One lineup, which includes the wedding of Kat and Alfie in EastEnders and a sure-fire ratings puller in the form of Only Fools and Horses.
The World Idol results show will again take the main peaktime slot on New Year's Day, airing over an hour from 8.30pm against the less challenging DIY SOS on BBC One.
