David Beckham will appear in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons, it has been confirmed.
Just eight months ago producers of the hit cartoon series said that he wouldn't be given a cameo role because he wasn't well known enough in the States.
Executive producer Al Jean said at the time: "We thought about Becks but soccer isn't big in the States. He's not really famous enough. I've heard of him because my daughter plays soccer."
The decision was reversed after Beckham and wife Victoria engaged in a publicity tour of New York and Los Angeles in the summer.
