'Holiday Showdown' holds strong in ratings
More than 6 million viewers tuned in to the penultimate episode of Holiday Showdown on ITV1 last night, helping the network to a win in the key primetime slots.

An average of 6.3 million viewers - a 22.4% share of the audience - saw an unusually happy ending for the two families in this week's show, which aired between 9pm and 10pm.

The series benefitted from a strong lead-in from The Bill, which had 6.8 million from 8pm.

Over on BBC One at the same time, Judge John Deed was down to 5.9 million (25.5%).

Ultimately it was BBC One which won the peaktime ratings battle overall, however, helped by an episode of EastEnders at 7.30pm (12.2m, 55.7%) to take an average peaktime share of 29.4% against ITV1's 27.7%.
