The BBC is overhauling its flagship sport show, Grandstand, with the first shows in the new format to air this weekend.
The main Saturday Grandstand broadcast will now include ninety-second news updates, presented by Hazel Irvine, running during the first two hours of the programme. A longer bulletin will then air at 2:30pm. At 3pm, the new interactive football scores service will continue.
Sunday Grandstand, presented by Craig Doyle on BBC Two, will include a new feature, 'Sport+', at the opening of the show. The new feature will invite comment from those involved in the big stories making news in the world of sport each week. Another new feature is 'The Big Interview', hosted by John Inverdale, which will run on a monthly basis with in-depth interviews with big names in sport.
