Big figures for 'Nip/Tuck' on Sky One

Sky One's big new drama series Nip/Tuck drew in almost 1 million viewers last night (Tuesday), early figures show.
The 90-minute premiere - broadcast from 10pm - averaged 949,430 viewers, a 9.25% audience share in multichannel homes.
The figures are particularly impressive considering the late slot and will be welcome relief for Sky Networks director Dawn Airey, under pressure over the channel's sliding ratings.
The massive marketing push behind the show, which included an ad campaign on the terrestrial channels, was no doubt the key factor in Nip/Tuck's success; it remains to be seen whether its popularity can be sustained in the coming weeks.
