Myleene Klass has cited her inability to do "late nights or early mornings" as the reason behind her decision to turn down a stint on the GMTV sofa.

The 30-year-old would have been replacing Fiona Phillips, who announced her departure as anchor for the show in August.

Phillips is giving up a £1.5 million contract after 12 years to be with her family. Others in the running to replace her include Kate Silverton and Ulrika Jonsson.

Klass told The Mirror: "Conversations were had, but I'm not doing it. I can't do late nights or early mornings anymore."

Klass and Gok Wan recently teamed up to present a new UK talent hunt for Channel 4, entitled Miss Naked Beauty.
