Gervais and 'Office' win Golden Globes
Ricky Gervais and The Office picked up awards on Sunday night at the 61st Annual Golden Globe Awards in Hollywood.

The Office, which airs on BBC America in the States, won the award for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy, while Ricky Gervais picked up the award for Best Performance by an Actor in that category.

FOX's 24, the third season of which will premiere in the UK on Sky One next month, picked up the award for Best TV Series in the drama category.

In other TV news from the event: HBO's Angels in America found success, with Al Pacino picking up an award for best performance by an actor in a TV mini-series/TV movie, Meryl Streep winning in the same category for best performance by an actress, Jeffrey Wright winning in the best performance by a supporting actor in a series/mini-series/TV movie category, and the series itself scooping the award for best mini-series or TV movie. Another HBO series, Sex in the City, appeared in the winners' list, with Sarah Jessica Parker winning the award for best performance by an actress in a musical/comedy TV series. Six Feet Under - again, from HBO - saw Frances Conroy win the award for best performance by an actress in a drama TV series. Anthony Lapaglia won the award in that category for best performance by an actor for his role on the CBS series Without a Trace.
