New Richard & Judy show drops to 45,000
Richard & Judy's new multichannel chatshow got off to a slow start this week, early ratings figures suggest.

Richard & Judy's New Position, airing weeknights at 8pm on new UKTV station Watch, began with just 100,000 (0.5%) on Tuesday. The new series follows a similar format to its Channel 4 predecessor, mixing celebrity interviews with topical discussions and a book club.

On Wednesday the audience halved to 53,000 (0.3%) and Thursday night's show pulled in 45,000 (0.2%). The pair's final show for Channel 4 was seen by 1.56m (12.9%) in August.

"If anybody thinks that we're surprised, moving from a terrestrial channel to digital, to see a drop in numbers, they must think we're living in fantasy land," Richard told Radio 1. "We've been trying to say to people it's a tiny audience to begin with but it will grow because that's digital TV. It's going to take weeks and months."
