ITV to launch as single PLC on Monday

Shares in the merged ITV entity, ITV plc, will begin trading on the London Stock Exchange on Monday, February 2.
Ordinary shares of Carlton and Granada, who are merging to form the merged ITV company, will cease trading on the LSE at the close of business today. Dealings in Carlton's ADSs on the NASDAQ in America will cease trading when that market shuts in New York later on Friday.
The news comes as speculation mounts in the press that former BBC Director-General, Greg Dyke, may be parachuted in to lead the newly-merged ITV. Dyke, who resigned yesterday (Thursday) in the wake of Hutton, led ITV franchisee London Weekend TV during the 1990s, and is widely held to be responsible for developing that franchisee's network hits including Blind Date.
