'Blackadder' would have headed to 1960s

Richard Curtis has revealed that a new series of Blackadder would have been set in the 1960s.

The writer commented that the Edmund Blackadder character was to be written as a wealthy businessman if the show had continued.

He added that one storyline involved Baldrick accidentally killing President Kennedy.

The classic comedy ran for four series between 1983 and 1989.

Earlier this year, Rowan Atkinson turned down the chance to reunite with his former co-stars for a UKTV Gold special.
