Laverne joins 'Orange unsignedAct' panel
Published Wednesday, Oct 15 2008, 07:04 BST | By Simon Reynolds

Rebranded from last year's MobileAct Unsigned, the show will whittle down 7,000 entrants to award one group or singer-songwriter a recording contract with Universal Records.
Alex Zane will return to host the show, with Radio DJ Jo Whiley, Blur bass player Alex James and record company head Simon Gavin back as judges.
"It's fantastic to be involved in Orange unsignedAct as the first series was truly groundbreaking," said new addition Laverne.
"What makes the show unique is that it searches and supports real music, so I can’t wait to join the judging panel and uncover some of the great unsigned acts from across the UK."
