Sky News presenter Kay Burley reportedly collapsed after presenting yesterday's afternoon newscast.

The 47-year-old fell to the studio floor after completing the 5pm bulletin. Paramedics treated Burley at the scene and allowed her to go home.

A spokesman for Sky said: "Kay was taken ill during the programme. A first-aider and ambulance were called as a precaution."

An onlooker in the studio described Burley as being "wide-eyed and dizzy" when she came to.

Andrew Wilson stepped in for an absent Burley today to anchor the 2pm-5pm Sky News broadcast.

Burley was involved in a brawl with a photographer earlier in the year after being struck in the face while covering Naomi Campbell's airport assault court case.

The newsreader, who was left with bruising on her face, grabbed photographer Kirsty Wigglesworth around the throat in the scuffle.
