Ben Fogle fighting a flesh-eating bug

TV presenter Ben Fogle is fighting a rare flesh-eating disease he picked up in Peru.

The 34-year-old former Castaway contestant said he felt extremely ill when the infection first took its hold.

"It could have been really dangerous. I had bad headaches, I was sick and the skin on my arm was really itchy because of the infection. Luckily, I'm starting to feel better," he told The Mirror.

The fitness guru was treated at the Hospital For Tropical Diseases in London and is now feeling well enough to resume training for a 483-mile South Pole race, to be filmed for the BBC.
