'Sunshine' sets with 4m for BBC One
BBC One drama Sunshine ended its run with an audience high last night (Tuesday), according to early ratings figures.

Overall, the three-part series, which stars Steve Coogan and Craig Cash, was down 19% on the channel's average for the Tuesday, 9pm slot. Last night's finale pulled in 3.97m (17.5%).

ITV1 was ahead for the period with its coverage of the Champions League game between Man Utd and Celtic. The match, screened between 7.30pm and 10pm, averaged 5.29m (23.2%).

Five's CSI: Miami held on to third place in the 9pm hour with 2.59m (11.4%). The final episode of Jamie's Ministry Of Food brought in 2.34m (10.4%) to Channel 4. Over its four weeks, the series, which sees the celebrity chef trying to foment healthier eating in Rotherham, has averaged 2.74m (12.3%).

BBC One was second for the 8pm hour, drawing in 5.28m (22.8%) to Holby City. Channel 4 had 2m (8.6%) for new Gok Wan series Miss Naked Beauty and on Five, Nature Shock notched up 1.66m (7.2%).

BBC Two had a predictably tough night in the ratings. The final episode of Twiggy's Frock Exchange had 1.35m (5.8%) in the 8pm hour, then British Style Genius managed a dismal 0.98m (4.3%). The channel's most-watched show of the day was Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two, with 2.3m (11.4%) at 6.30pm.

EastEnders had the day's top audience of any channel, with 8.15m (37.1%) for BBC One and 743,000 (4.6%) for BBC Three. Emmerdale was second with 6.57m (31.4%).

BBC One improved its primetime share to 23% (last week: 22.4%). ITV1 was also up, averaging 21.7% (19.8%) for the period. Channel 4 reclaimed third place with 8.3% (8%), followed by Five on 7.9% (8.3%) and BBC Two on 5.4% (5.3%).

E4's first run of Hollyoaks remained above the 1 million mark, drawing an average of 1.05m (5.9%) at 7pm and a further 166,000 (0.8%) on E4+1.

BBC Three had success with endurance show Last Man Standing, which drew 381,000 (1.9%) in the 9pm hour, and comedy Coming Of Age, with 441,000 (3.4%) at 10.30pm.

ITV4's coverage of the Champions League game between Arsenal and Fenerbahce netted 799,000 (4%) between 7.30pm and 10pm, and on Sky1, Stargate Atlantis averaged 370,000 (1.8%) in the 8pm hour.

Living had strong audiences of 373,000 (1.9%) and 380,000 (2.6%) from 9pm with a Ghost Whisperer double-bill.
