FX commissions sketch show 'No Signal'

FX has commissioned a satirical sketch show about multichannel TV called No Signal.

The show, which is FX's first scripted comedy, will poke fun at documentaries, reality TV, teleshopping and 24-hour news channels.

Stand-up comic Pete Cain and Louis Bogue, who worked on advertising campaigns for British Airways, Carling and Nintendo, wrote the series.

There will be ten episodes of No Signal, which is scheduled to air in February 2009. The show will feature on the channel's comedy Thursdays lineup alongside The Colbert Report and American Dad.

"Commissioning comedy as a relatively small channel is a huge risk, but the potential upside is plain to see," said Fox International Channels UK managing director Jason Thorp.

"When you have talent such as Pete and Lou on board however, the odds are in your favour. We hope No Signal will act as a springboard to an expanded commissioning slate next year."
