The Daily Mail claimed that the news presenter tripped "headlong" into an elephant hole and was stretchered off set.
However, a spokesperson for the BBC said the newspapers claims were inaccurate.
"She did not fall into an elephant hole and she was not stretchered off," said a publicist. "She accidentally tripped on a divet while reading through her cue cards.
"She went on to present the live show a short time later."
