Gervais rules out Beckhams for 'Extras'

Ricky Gervais has said that David and Victoria Beckham will not appear in any future episode of Extras.

The comedian claimed that he does not want to use the couple because Sacha Baron Cohen has already worked with them during an Ali G sketch for Comic Relief.

"The Beckhams would be huge and we could do loads with them but I think Ali G got in first," he told The Sun.

"At risk of sounding like an egomaniac, working with the Beckhams would only interest me if it was my idea. It wouldn't feel particularly exclusive.

"They are great but there is not a magazine that you open up and they've not been in."

Gervais revealed last month that he is hoping to get Al Pacino, Danny DeVito or Michael Douglas to appear in a one-off episode of the comedy series.
