The exercise instructor, real name Derrick Evans, first appeared on the breakfast show during the 1990s.
Evans's return is part of GMTV's attempts to tackle obesity in the UK. He will join Dr Hilary Jones and nutritionist Amanda Ursell in visiting viewers' homes and trying to get them motivated and healthy.
"I am very excited to be coming back to GMTV to get the nation fit in 2009," said Evans.
"Although I've been away, I have still continued on my mission of highlighting the wonderful benefits that can be derived from employing a healthy lifestyle."
He added: "Britain has got fat together, now it's time to get fit together!"
