Kate Thornton has signed up to front a six-part, 60-minute Sky1 airport series called Hello Goodbye.

The series, which begins on Sky1 and Sky1 HD next February, will see the former X Factor host meet travellers going to and from Heathrow's Terminals 3 and 5.

Sky's commissioning editor for entertainment Steve Jones said: "Airports aren't just about exhausting queues, enraging delays and the perils of lost luggage. Hello Goodbye is heart-warming entertainment, exploring the stories of people at the arrival and departure lounges.

"With tales of love, sorrow, family ties and friendship, Hello Goodbye is the epitome of feel-good TV."

Executive producer Simon Welton added that the show will chronicle the "huge events" in peoples' lives which unfold at airports.
