The untitled show will focus on Frank's relationship with his older brother and their mother, former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Jackie.
The 58-year-old, who penned songs from the soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever sequel Staying Alive, said that he signed up for the show in an attempt to move out of his brother's shadow.
The National Enquirer quotes him as saying: "For 32 years I have been Rocky-ed to death. Now I'm trying to change the public's perception of me. I'm extremely proud that Sly created Rocky, but I got really tired of that.
"I was signed to RCA records before Rocky came along and I'm angry that people think I'm riding on my brother's coat tails. I want the recognition I deserve."
