ITV drama leads Sunday

ITV1's stealth drama lineup helped the network to another ratings victory over BBC One last night (Sunday).

In the 7pm hour, Emmerdale and Coronation Street drew audiences of 8.66m (37.07%) and 11.68m (45.22%) respectively. Heartbeat pulled in a 9.65m (37%) average at 8pm, while William and Mary hung onto 7.86m (31.55%) at 9pm.

BBC One's doctor drama Born and Bred managed a respectable 5.92m (22.69%) at 8pm, but figures dropped to 4.33m (17.31%) an hour later for Travels With My Unfit Mother, a documentary following Anne Robinson and her daughter on a coast-to-coast trip through the US.

Channel 4's teen drama The O.C. held steady at 6.30pm with 1.15 million viewers and a 5.09% share. E4 had 154,810 (1.06%) for the next episode at 7.25pm.

Sky One's top show of the night was a new episode of The Simpsons at 6.30pm with an average of 1.19m (9.70%). Controversial reality series There's Something About Miriam was up from 552,430 (3.82%) to 643,480 (4.41%) at 9pm, followed by original drama Mile High at 10pm with 521,410 (4.61%). Miriam spinoff Miriam Extra pulled in 130,350 (1.87%) at 11pm, while Porno Valleyentertained 116,120 (2.23%) at 11.30pm.

Elsewhere, the Sky Movies premiere of Eminem's 8 Mile averaged 391,810 (3.02%) between 9pm and 11pm, while the 2-hour American Idol wildcard show brought in 302,520 (2.07%) to ITV2 from 8pm.

LivingTV's celebrity reality series I'm Famous and Frightened averaged an impressive 365,520 (3.42%) over three hours from 9pm, adding an extra 87,610 (1.28%) for its timeshifted repeat.

A new episode of Punk'd was MTV's top draw, averaging 62,800 (0.50%) at 10pm.
