Jessica Simpson's little sister has been given her own reality show, the AP reports today.
Ashlee will follow Ashlee Simpson, 19, as she attempts to become a recording star. Across the six episodes, she records her first album, auditions for a backing band and breaks up with her boyfriend.
"Ashlee is talented and charismatic, and we are happy she is taking us along on her adventure in the music industry," said Lois Curren, an executive vice president at MTV.
Jessica's series Newlyweds - currently in its second season - is one of MTV's top-rated shows in the US.
"My series will show people all the hard work it takes to cut an album, and I'm excited for everyone to see this and live it right along with me," said Ashlee. "I'm really proud of everything that I've accomplished and I can't wait for the MTV audience to see it for themselves!"
