The BBC have named Christopher Eccleston as the latest actor to play Doctor Who.
Doctor Who was last on our screens in 1996 in a TV Movie version where Paul McGann played the lead role. The role has more recently been played by Richard E. Grant, whom voiced the Doctor for a animated internet special.
